However, there are many fake "Locked" iPhones on the market that impersonate international iPhones. These devices may not be easily checked through the "Settings." Here's how to tell the difference:

• First, you must have a SIM card from any local carrier that is currently in use.
• Insert that SIM card into the iPhone.

• If the screen shows [Active] and prompts you to activate, with the signal indicator only appearing after activation, it's likely your iPhone is a carrier locked version.

• If the signal appears without any activation prompt, it could be an international iPhone.
